Communicable Disease

The following signs and symptoms may indicate the beginning of a communicable disease:

  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea (2 times or more)
  • Fever (100.5* F oral)
  • Rash or open oozing sore
  • Balding/flaky area – with or without patches
  • Red, swollen area
  • Red eye(s) – itchy, crusty, yellow discharge
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting (2 times or more)
  • Cough//wheeze
  • Chills

Please keep your child at home when any of these signs/symptoms are noted, and seek medical attention as needed.

Parents of a child in school with any of the above symptoms will be notified. In order to prevent illness from being spread to other children in the classroom/school, parents will be asked to pick up their child from school. Students may return to school once their symptoms have subsided and they are fever free for 24 hours without using fever reducing medication. A return to school form may be obtained from your child's physician.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for our children.
