Principal's Message

Dear Wetherbee ES Families,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I return to Wetherbee Elementary as Acting Principal for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. I am honored to be able to come back to the hive and feel truly blessed to be the instructional leader of such a wonderful school community.  I am eager to listen, learn, and lead the students, teachers, and parents as we prepare your child for learning and for life. I do not take lightly that you have chosen our school as the place to provide your child with learning experiences that are rigorous, relevant and builds relationships.

As Acting Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors - staff, students, and parents - are welcome and excited to be here! This mindset allows us to meet the challenges and obstacles we face and work collaboratively to remove barriers in an effort to meet the needs of our students.

I am also pleased to share a few exciting and outstanding opportunities that will be provided at Wetherbee Elementary. Wetherbee hosts the stellar Two Way Dual Language (TWDL) program in Kindergarten thru 5th grade and is a model school in the district for bilingual education and multicultural awareness. We also offer a variety of academic enrichment opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program. In addition, we will continue to engage students in musical performances through our chorus program.

Community engagement is another critical component to our success as a school. We welcome parent volunteers, community volunteers, and business leaders as key contributors to our success. I would like to invite all to take advantage of the many opportunities available to volunteer and partner with us. Please contact your child's teacher or the front office for ways to become involved in our school.

Again, I am honored to be the Acting Principal of Wetherbee Elementary and look forward to working with our dedicated educators, supportive parents, and amazing students this year. Thank you for making Wetherbee Elementary a wonderful place for children to learn to "bee our best selves so we can thrive in the hive!"
