Principal’s Message

Dear Wetherbee Bumblebees,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I return to Wetherbee Elementary as the Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. I am honored to return to the hive and feel truly blessed to be the instructional leader and culture builder of such a wonderful school community.  I am eager to listen, learn, and lead the students, teachers, and parents as we prepare your child for learning and for life. Thank you for choosing our school as the place to provide your child with learning experiences that are rigorous, relevant and builds relationships.

It is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors - staff, students, and parents - feel safe, have a sense of belonging, and truly feel connected when they enter Wetherbee Elementary! This mindset allows us to meet the challenges and obstacles we face and work collaboratively to remove barriers in an effort to meet the needs of our students. Learning at Wetherbee should always be engaging, relevant, and fun!

I am also pleased to share a few exciting highlights that make Wetherbee Elementary the place to “bee”! Wetherbee Elementary has been identified as a “School of Excellence” for its high academic rigor and positive school culture. Wetherbee hosts the stellar Two Way Dual Language (TWDL) program in Pre-Kindergarten thru 5th grade and is a model school in the district for bilingual education and multicultural awareness. We also offer a variety of academic enrichment opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) program. In addition, we will be opening a new STEAM Lab in the fall of 2025 to provide hands-on, project based learning opportunities for students.

Community engagement is another critical component to our success as a school. We welcome parent volunteers, community volunteers, and business leaders as key contributors to our success. I would like to invite all to take advantage of the many opportunities available to volunteer and partner with us. Please contact your child's teacher, Wetherbee PTO, or the front office for ways to become more involved in our school.

I am honored to be the Principal of Wetherbee Elementary and look forward to working with our dedicated educators, supportive parents, and amazing students this year. Thank you for making Wetherbee Elementary a wonderful place for children to learn to "bee our best selves so we can thrive in the hive!"

Wishing you well,

John Stiles Williams, aka Mr. SW
Proud Principal of Wetherbee ES
